{"id":4088,"date":"2012-01-05T14:02:27","date_gmt":"2012-01-05T13:02:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/futurehealthbiobank.com\/ca-en\/?p=4088"},"modified":"2018-02-15T10:35:24","modified_gmt":"2018-02-15T09:35:24","slug":"future-health-biobank-director-awarded-mbe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/futurehealthbiobank.com\/ca-en\/blog\/future-health-biobank-director-awarded-mbe\/","title":{"rendered":"Future Health Biobank Director awarded MBE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The UK Director of Europe\u2019s first accredited private family stem cell bank, has been awarded an MBE for services to scientific research and training in the Queen\u2019s New Year\u2019s honours list. <!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Roger Dainty MBE [of Wollaton near Nottingham] has been a Consultant of Future Health since its foundation in 2002 and UK Director since 2006. He had previously pursued a successful career within the NHS and academia at the University of Nottingham Medical School, working in the field of Training in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry Teaching and Research. This included winning funding for a highly successful programme to train young unemployed people as science technicians. His MBE therefore recognises a lifetime of dedication to science and training in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am delighted and honoured to receive this award and feel humbled to be in the company of so many worthy recipients in the field of science and medicine, both past and present,\u201d said Mr Dainty.<\/p>\n<p>As well as being responsible for guiding the company through the first and then successive accreditations with Human Tissue Authority (HTA) and Medicines &amp; Healthcare products Regulatory Authority (MHRA), Mr Dainty has also helped the company expand their services beyond umbilical cord blood storage. Future Health were the first private stem cell bank to offer umbilical cord tissue collection to capture the type of stem cells which can differentiate into muscle, tendon, cartilage and bone and which hold the key to breakthroughs in regenerative medicine. Storage of stem cells from tooth pulp and adipose (fat) tissue were added during 2011 and further new services are planned for 2012.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The UK
