What is Down's syndrome?

Down’s syndrome affects 1 in 1,000 babies and is characterised as a genetic disorder which can cause specific learning difficulties and physical differences. Every child diagnosed with the condition will have slightly different characteristics and difficulties, however, all will be affected to some degree by a psychological and physical difference.

Vision is a safer means of screening for Down's syndrome which may negate the need for an amniocentesis test

Many babies born with Down’s syndrome are only diagnosed after birth. However, Vision enables parents to get a full view of their child’s susceptibility to this condition from as early as 10 weeks and is carried-out with just a simple risk-free blood draw, thus removing any risk of miscarriage associated with amniocentesis.
