Toutefois, il para\u00eet clair que les cellules souches sont essentielles pour maintenir les tissus vitaux en bonne sant\u00e9. Lorsque les tissus sont endommag\u00e9s, les cellules souches se d\u00e9placent et produisent de nouvelles cellules pour remplacer celles qui meurent.
