Step one The adipose collection container is cleaned and transferred into a sterile clean room by a designated scientific officer. Step two The adipose tissue is centrifuged to separate it from the fluid used in the liposuction procedure. Step three The adipose tissue is washed to remove blood and non-viable cells. Step four The adipose tissue is digested to release the cells. Step five The released cells are separated from the digested material by centrifugation. Step six The cells have cryoprotectant added to them and are transferred to cryovials. Step seven The sample is then cooled to -150ºC using a controlled rate freezer and is placed into a vapour phase nitrogen storage tank for 25 years.
