Dupa ce medicii nu au reusit sa gaseasca un donator compatibil de maduva osoasa pentru transplant.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>O noua speranta speranta a sosit pentru Laith la data de 10 Octombrie 2010, odata cu venirea pe lume a surioarei lui. Sangele din cordonul ombilical al surioarei lui ar putea contine o sursa bogata de aceleasi celule stem care sunt prezente in maduva osoasa si care ar putea fi compatibile pentru fratele sau bolnav.<\/p>\n<p>Familia a apelat in Nottingham, banzandu-se pe Future Health Biobank, cea mai mare banca din Marea Britanie si prima banca de celule stem din sangele ombilical acreditata din Europa. Testele au aratat ca proba este perfect compatibila si contine suficiente celule stem pentru a fi utilizate. Prin urmare, proba va fi gata si asteapta momentul in care starea lui Laith este suficient de stabila pentru ca medicii sa ia in considerare un transplant.<\/p>\n<p>Acel moment a sosit acum, iar proba a fost eliberata cu succes de catre Future Health la sfarsitul lunii aprilie. Transplantul a avut loc la Centru King Hussein Cancer din Iordania, in duminica de 20 mai si totul a mers bine, dar au fost cateva saptamani inainte pentru ca medicii sa stie daca va fi un succes complet. Transplantul a fost efectuat de Dr Ayad Hussein, care a fost resposanbil de ingrijirea lui Laith pentru o perioada de timp.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSuntem incantati ca am eliberat o proba pentru tratament, ca sarbatoare pentru a zecea noastra aniversare\u201d, a declarat Roger Dainty MBE, directorul general Future Health Marea Britanie. \u201cChiar de la inceput ne-am numit o facilitate de familie.
